In this school, you will have two different coaching courses to choose from. The first is for current teachers, tutors, college professors--anyone working with students! The RTI/MTSS course is designed to help you better understand your reading data so that you can better help students. If you are currently working with students, I will partner with you to ensure you know how to help them become better readers by matching what they need to what you teach. If you are currently working with pre-service teachers, I will help you understand how to design your course to ensure they are armed with knowing how to ensure their future students are readers.

Hi, I’m Jill!


I began my career as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, and later spent time as a literacy coach. I have spent more than 15 years as an educational consultant for schools across Missouri. In these schools, I assist with understanding the components of reading, reading data, and reading interventions. I also assist schools in implementing RTI/MTSS as a system and implementing structured literacy using the science of reading. I also help to facilitate the development of curriculum around state standards. I spent nine years in administration as a building principal and assistant superintendent. I have worked in small rural schools and large urban districts.

I have worked in the field of education for over 20 years. During these years, I have worked with students, teachers, administrators, universities, and state departments. My passion is ensuring that all children learn to read and that every teacher and school leader is empowered to know how to put this into practice. My expertise is in implementing systems of support for school improvement. I hold a BA in Elementary Education, an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction, an EdS in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.
